Microsoft Virtual PC is now free download. Anyone got this tool? Is it good for OS develpment tests? EDIT: I could run DSL Linux very fast with it! It seems to work pretty good and is easy to use (working with few clicks). Althought it looks more bloated than QEMU for those who want to just test their toy OS. But it might have some great features that I didn't explore much. Post your comments! |

From my experience, VirtualPC is a bit slower than vmware, but sometimes a bit better at emulating "weird operating systems" (of the homebrew kind).
My conspiracy theories say that the main reason Microsoft purchased VPC was to support XBOX-1 games in the XBOX360... |
