Whoa, time to set oneself amonst the legends, eh ? Razz

My name is Jure Sah, I'm 21 and my bday is on 8th April. I live in Ljubljana, capital city of Slovenia (Europe! if you can't find me, it's inbetween Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia).

My programming skill roots originate from BASIC (started with Sinclair BASIC when I was about 8 to be 'exact') and the likes from DOS and pre-DOS and I have picked up other languages and operating systems only relatively recently due to, well, limitations in the hardware I had available. I have experimented with many languages and finnally picked up ASM as a kind of challenge, but stuck to it since it allows for programming with the BASIC kind of thinking that I grew up with and because I was sick and tired of having to code elaborate workarounds for everything I wanted to make in any other programming language I worked with.

I work as a programmer in a small company that deals with supplying and devoloping high-tech laboratory equipment for chemical and biotechnological research. I also tripple as network admin and computer repairs guy. I find working in a small workgroup and a high-tech environment highly motivating.

My hobbies are rather techy as well as my room is littered with computer components and various computers on various OSes fulfulling my needs to feel useful and efficient even when I am asleep and stuff. Beside assembling computers and programming for fun I also occasionally make Tracked music and/or 3D models. A programming hobby I stuck to for most of my life was Artificial Intelligence.

My primary motivation for learning more and more ASM other than to make neat stuff, is to teach it to intelligent kids who would otherwise waste their time on something primitive and trying to see what happens. So far so good.

That's about it. Smile

EDIT: Hmm original: 2006.... updated 2010! I only updated the link to a domain that exists.

Funny, the BIOS in my computer is from Phoenix Technologies, nice piece of code though

I think it's high time to introduce myself into the fasm forum.

I am 23 years old and I currently live in Karlsruhe, which is in south west Germany.
I have started my IT studies at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, which takes most of my spare time, so I had no time coding any assembly the last half year.

The IT studies at the University of Karlsruhe is quiet hard, thus we got started with lots of theoritical math(analysis and linear algebra), and we started programming in java which is lightyears away from producing as small and fast programs than fasm does, but instead it "claims" to be architecture-portable.

Alright, I've been registered here for about two years (probably three reading) so I might as well do this too.

I'm an age 19 Canadian computer science student and ASM coder. My name is unimportant. I started ASM probably 4 or 5 years ago (with DOS-based TASM) after being severely disappointed by all the C/C++ tutorials ("Yay! printf and 'class Cat: public Dog'! Now I know how computers work!" kindda thing). I can honestly tell you that I've learned much more from Win32/DOS ASM programming that from all my high school/university classes combined. Yet I don't even know that much, such that it makes my education seem quite sad indeed (with a few notable exceptions, of course).

I've been writing random utilities using FASM, from potentially useful analysis tools to complete nonsense, very few of which have seen the light of day. I usually get the basics working and lose interest when it comes to finishing up the yet-necessary details. My only major project has been a mod for the PC game Trespasser, which is still going actually, though slowly. It's extremely dependent on FASM. I recently split it into 500+ small source files, with hundreds and hundreds of structures and macros; still, on my AMD 3300+, FASM takes care of it in a matter of seconds.

Quite truthfully, FASM is the most useful and therefore greatest piece of free software I have used to date.

SSP, i wouldn't advise giving out your address on public boards. Not only is this viewable by random registered people, but guests as well.

Kohlrak, thanks for your advice.

I thought that fellow forum members would find it easy to come at my place.
However now I feel that, you may be right somehow, so I'm editing my post.

Anybody wishing to see me while on his trip to INDIA can PM me for my
