How to determine the number of ATA channels?
I have Primary and Secondary channels only. When I read Status register for Tetriary or Quaternary ATA channel, it returns -1. Should I rely on this value or I need to perform any other check, for example, a response timeout routine. I mean is Status = -1 a standard for a nonexisting ATA channel?
