I am pleased to share, as an attachment, a complete French PDF translation of Volume 2 of Agner Fog's manuals. This document covers the optimization of subroutines in assembly language.
It is a standard reference in the field, as well as an excellent introduction to 64-bit programming and the nuances of various instruction sets. There are five manuals in total, available at https://www.agner.org/optimize/ Here are their titles: Vol 1 - Optimizing software in C++: An optimization guide for Windows, Linux and Mac platforms Vol 2 - Optimizing subroutines in assembly language: An optimization guide for x86 platforms Vol 3 - The microarchitecture of Intel, AMD and VIA CPUs: An optimization guide for assembly programmers and compiler makers Vol 4 – Instruction tables: Lists of instruction latencies, throughputs and micro-operation breakdowns for Intel, AMD and VIA CPUs Vol 5 - Calling conventions for different C++ compilers and operating systems Happy reading!
