It will be interesting to see what happens if you change it to such a small value.

I suspect the system will lock-up because I doubt it can process interrupts at such a fast rate. At the very best it would make the system very sluggish spending most of its time to service the timer interrupt.

I am also unsure if the interrupt timer can be set to a granularity of 100ns. Does it have a 10MHz clock input?
