Would fasm run on Zeta?

There is a new OS, called Zeta, which I think is based on BeOS, but was completly rewritten.

This OS is fast, stable, moderate in size, non open-source, and not to expensive, neither.
And best, the developers are only at 40km away from my home!

have you got any idea if Fasm would run on it?
Well , I think it should be modified (just the OS-interface files) since Fasm is written to work on al 32bit flat memory environment that uses the 80386 CPU.

But that should be possible, isn't?

It's not totally rewritten. Basically it's an updated version of BeOS R5.1 (known as Dano; never released to the public). It has a lot of promise, though I'm still holding out on buying a copy until they release version 1 Smile

The existing BeOS port (in one of the posts here, and on BeBits) should work with Zeta. You'll want to update it to 1.55 (I'll release an updated version of Fasm for BeOS sometime this week). Basically, it uses libc for I/O. If Zeta uses GCC 2.95, then it will probably work. I've had some difficulties with GCC 3.x, but I'm making headway on fixing them. So the answer is: probably. You'll have to run 'make' to get a binary, but chances are good that it will work with Zeta. (BTW, if you compile/run it under Zeta, please let me know!)

I run it on Zeta (v1.53) and works ok. And yes Zeta is not much better then R5.1. Have more apps and good support for dsl.
