How much confidence are you in above subject?

Assume society could progress, and without any drastic destruction or changes, could we assume, eventually we will build simulation and connect ourselves into it?

It has already been said that we may be living in one of such simulations, basically the plot of The Matrix, but perhaps without the dystopian overtone.

dystopian
adjective
1.
relating to or denoting an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one.
"the dystopian future of a society bereft of reason"
noun
1.
a person who advocates or describes an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad.

yah, pleasant or unpleasant is only a matter of perspective,

i was trying to measure if simulation is the only conclusion one could get in a progressive society, the eventual creation that any progressive society would get,

eg, if i dna modified some group of dogs to have the capacity of conscious like human, and let them progress, eventually, simulation is the output,

which also means, if we created conscious ai, eventually, they will make simulation too, i guess,

Scientists discover new mechanism for information storage in one atom

thousand times more capacity in current hard disk drive, cool, get nearer to simulation each,

Which is completely useless unless their speeds also get at least 100x.

What point is having memory that you can't access in a reasonable timeframe?

You don't always have to access all of it. For camera recordings it is useful to capture and store eveything. But most often it is never viewed until there is an incident that needs attention. Being able to go back and view only what you need is a great advantage in investigations. And if after six months, or whatever, no incidents are reported just delete the old records and overwrite with new stuff.

Ah yes, fair point, I forgot about archival purposes. I guess we have tape for that anyway, which would also get a boost.

we are far away from using speed of light in common digital gadgets, still have lots of room for improvement, more theories, practicals and experiments to be discovered,

Scientists Have Connected The Brains of 3 People, Enabling Them to Share Thoughts
https://www.sciencealert.com/brain-to-brain-mind-connection-lets-three-people-share-thoughts

Quote:
Neuroscientists have successfully hooked up a three-way brain connection to allow three people share their thoughts – and in this case, play a Tetris-style game. The team thinks this wild experiment could be scaled up to connect whole networks of people, and yes, it's as weird as it sounds.
