The Saudis are bullshitters like the rest. They've been saying that for the past 5 years.

Russia will not let that regime fall. It's been maintaining economic and military ties with it for more than 40 years now. There's more at stake than a president. For the sake of access to the mediterranean alone, they wouldn't let the regime fall.

As for a Saudi ground operation, until it happens I'll remain skeptical. They've been quite content with using proxies so far and I don't see any reason for a change. They're just for show and beyond their vast oil resources, big mouths and regular muscle flexing they're mostly harmless. They have all the western toys but little experience in actually using them. They can barely keep their own backyard safe.

An evil dentist sings this song....he is metaphysical so i can't kill him...and his metal pick is legal...and he sends people to the morgue no questions asked...he encrypts phone calls...he has high ham radio status...and he causes decay to gods brain...and he himself is a dentist with implants...while 1000 year old skulls have all their teeth in most every case...and oil companies pay them to kill America... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEQ0l_m3Xm0

The Saudis are already bogged down in Yemen. A second front in that situation? Rly?

And then there was the recent talk about the Ruskies planning to use tactical nukes against the Saudis if they really amass all those ground troops and try sending them over to Syria.

Then again the same kind of rumors were floating around during the Sochi Olympics saying that a Saudi prince threatened Putin with siccing his pet terrorists to liven up the Olympics a bit and Vladimir got so pissed that he ordered bombers on standby for nuking the Saudis a little in return.

Either way it seems that the Vladimirs really have had enough of the West trying to hog all the oil and build pipes where ever they want by arranging regime changes all over the place. It's all about the oil and geopolitics and has nothing to do with freedom, human rights, democracy or anything like that, right?

because sooner or later, each country which doesn't want to co-operate or puppeted by united states will ends up like iraq, libya, syria, and etc.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_United_States_military_operations#2010.E2.80.93present

they will leave mark in everywhere their interests, agendas located.

all countries try to survive with their own nation identity, basically, un failed to function.

if russia doesn't gets involved, maybe syria, ukraine are finished business,

democracy will only happen in places containing lots of oil, gas, cheap labours, strategic routes for import/export, etc.

maybe there is nothing about right or wrong, human like wars, killing people, taking every advantages, bullying, fuck and breed more, human slavery, money and more money, etc

what kinda result are we expecting? world war 3 is only about when.

leader properties, tough, bully, strong image, arrogant, demanding, argue for the sake of win instead of truth, ego, power authority grabbing, etc

because silent majority fail to devolve.

A little bit simplified, but not naive. I am not talking about before 1917. And I can't remember some Russian war on the wrong side since then. (Just as a contrast, Bulgaria always fights on the wrong side, with very little exceptions)

I can't remember any war, they were on the "right" (whatever that's supposed to mean) side. They've always been on their own side dictated by their exaggerated political ambitions and primitive thinking. WWII was initiated by them. And only Nazi betrayal is what made them look like they are victims.

l_inc, you should read less Solzhenitsyn and Rezun and think more with your own head. Strange, when talking about programming, you are thinking pretty rationally.

Well, then I'd wish you read less russian propaganda, which is what most history books of former USSR represent. It's always a thankless job to discuss history. Most of it is nothing but a fairy tale made up by those who had the power to do that.

Of course the history is written by the winners and I always try to not accept the propaganda suggestions. But the facts are always facts and nothing more. Based on the facts one always can build own opinion about the history events. Of course some critical thinking is needed.

Critical thinking is needed to understand that whatever you hold for a fact might as well be fiction.

I've found that usually the most reliable way to get some kind of a basic understanding of two opposed factions is to take as a starting point a rough estimate of all the bad things they say about each other.

So in other words the Russians are practically as bad as the Americans say and the other way around.

And then you read some history books and it turns out that the reality is worse than you ever imagined. Then again what should I have expected?
