So are we being 'DoS'ed?
Now this board seems back to normal speed. Let's hope it stays that way.

Any clue as to what was wrong for the last few days?

Maybe someone (a new forum user for example) made some site scraping to get a copy of all interesting topics on his/her HDD?

Why? Is there something wrong with this site? Changing the PHP frontend won't help if someone is hammering the DB backend.

Well, it is possible Fresh IDE web site caused the problems. Tomasz sent me a PM that he found on the server and killed many hanging processes of Fresh IDE site engine. Embarassed

I changed the title to "So are we being 'DoS'ed?" because it appears there is still a problem sometimes. Is that you again John? Can we have our board back please.

Well, I don't know, because I don't have access to the control panel of the site, neither to the error logs.
Anyway, the problem itself is IMHO, because of some bots, that try to post comments on the Fresh IDE site or to edit the articles.
There is a bot protection, but if the bot try to POST some huge data chunks, it is possible the script hangs before the protection algorithms are executed. (I am working on some fixes).
So, to the some extent it is DoS attack.

This error is getting bad again. I have to try about 10 times before I can get access.
