[ARM] Perhaps a standard platform is going to happen?
This would allow for much more in the way of sample code, examples, OSes etc. to be shared and be compatible.

Time will tell if it actually works out.

idk if this is really going to happen since there are many vendors who think are smarter. When 8086 came out, (I think) there was a defined standard called IBM PC, your microprocessor is not compatible with IBM, You GTFO as compatibility was BIG thing. But right now so many vendors are there and the compatibility problem is solved by Google and Microsoft through Java/.NET Platforms. I feel x86 is at risk after UEFI, vendors have more control. But I hope for the best.
Maybe if ARM becomes standard there is a chance of happening something like x86---->DUSTBIN
