Fasm is different
I have to say, it's quite amazing a single man can make such a good assembler, there is just something special about fasm. Other assemblers i've used, there was always some annoyances with them, but with Fasm, I can always work at ease. Just want to thank the author for this assembler, good work tomasz. Cool

nmake was just ranting on some C++ (or rather HLL) issues.
Freedom of opinion is a good thing - it allows us sometimes to see things in different light.

I think that FASM is not just an assembler it's something more nowadays, it's a kind of social phenomenon. Tomasz was a creator and a sower who sowed a single seed that was meant to be a simple tool but quickly grew and gave another seeds sprouting in the minds and hearts of many followers (deserving a homage as well, but this is a theme for another story). Wink

As a side note I'd like to say something personal: when I came to this forum I met many people whose programming abilities taught me something about myself - I discovered limits of my knowledge what was a painful but at the same time very valuable experience. Wink

People with Physics and/or Mathematics background tend to excel in computer programming and tend to invent BIG INFLUENTIAL THINGS that are different from others.

Dennis Ritchie - Physics
Brian Kernighan - Physics & Maths
Tim Berners-Lee - Physics
Bjarne Stroustrup - Physics
Tomasz - Mathematics Smile

C, C++, WWW and FASM invented by physics and math guys. That leaves only Gosling and Linus as CS guys Wink
