Anyone ever used this: OPTASM

(Winrar will extract it.)

It was mentioned in this article:

http://www.drdobbs.com/windows/ms-dos-assemblers-compared/184408073

But don't see much more about it.

It's mentioned on wikipedia too. But don't even a page of it. Looks like it is no longer more is supported or even exists: check out this

Can't you consider using a modern assembler?

NOTE I'm not able to extract it under my linux system, yet.

Actually I had never used it for real programming but I do remember it. At that time when it could has been superior however I'd stick with TASM and A86. It's dead long time ago just like original TASM (as a package) and A86. If you can switch and get used to FASM certain "quirks" you can easily forget about other old assemblers from DOS era. However converting from MASM (since OPTASM used MASM syntax) to FASM large pieces of code can be trick and time consuming.
