Examples Forum?
Hi, I'm suggesting a dedicated "Examples" forum where we can upload demos/programs created in FASM. I've got so many (70+) unique examples that I would love to contribute. I care about technology and won't do much with them in my lifetime.

You may think that I should submit examples to this site and maybe they will be included. Problems: No thumbnail previews, no comments, no bug reports, not updated and I don't think programmers check it very often. So, the best examples won't get the exposure they deserve.

Also, it would be nice to have weekly/monthly competitions where viewers vote on which examples they like the best. This would give programmers an incentive to submit their best examples if they want their code to get recognition.

You may think that examples should be in the corresponding OS forums - DOS, Windows, etc - but there are LL coders here - compiler writers, OS-developers, embedded system programmers - who write universal code/graphics/etc. We are looking for general ideas/algorithms and we are NOT interested in OS-specific code.

i voted "YES", i thought you just want to upload examples for my that particular thread, sorry i misunderstood, so you mean about 70+ unique examples =)

sleep: Sorry for the misunderstanding. Good idea. I'll check it out.

Humans have the desire to be useful and productive. We can't just exist and do nothing and or we will descend into a black cloud of negativity: "I'm a worthless, pathetic looser!". Not good to have thoughts like this everyday! We can't run and hide from it, we just have to respond by being USEFUL.

Well, about 50 of them are just little examples that demonstrate specific features. Examples: How to create custom interfaces, controls, user database (dynamic array of structures), product catalog, search, arrange, artistic brushes, image effects, etc.

Please do whatever you can: Create examples, write tutorials, instructional videos (YouTube), help, teach, enlighten.

How about a forum for "Examples AND Tutorials"?

I think such a section could be a good addition to this board.

There is also the examples webpage that Tomasz maintains. But that is not user generated.

questlima: It already happened shortly after Tomasz posted in January 2013 (more than one and a half years ago!).
