No one really knows how the mind works. Although I'm quite sure it is a lot more complex than the simple model of "cloud" networking with central servers and remote clients.

Well, human minds don’t guarantee immediate availability of information/services. Cloud storage/computing too, so there definitely is some similarity. So, we have a weak means of communication in the first place and now use computers to invent another one with the same weaknesses.
